eCommerce with OnMind

In this short article we will see how to have your online store (eCommerce) with OnMind. For this it is important to distinguish three instances or aspects:

  1. The digital catalog: Your portfolio of products and services, or the menu in the case of a restaurant (with OnMind you have this function available)
  2. The eCommerce order: The OnMind application that provides eCommerce (without processing payments yet)
  3. The mechanism for payments: Connector to third-party technology for receiving electronic payments, e.g., ePayco-Davivienda (supported by OnMind with the “Utility Connector and Gateway”)

This last instance, as it corresponds to a third party, requires the corresponding procedure. Online stores cover the first two instances. It must be understood that electronic stores that receive payments link some payment gateway, that is the dynamics of eCommerce. Perhaps you can still find some eCommerce that only receives purchase orders or electronic orders without requiring electronic payment, but it must be more for lack of this procedure or by decision.

Required by the ePayco-Davivienda alliance.

This Colombian platform provides very good features given the variety of payment methods, collection tools, the possibility of linking PayPal account (which attracts consumers worldwide), a lower commission to other entities and you can link as a person if you do not have a formal establishment or business.

You can review the proposal of this alliance on the website of ePayco. Commercial concerns should be addressed directly with them.

Normally, they don’t apply subscription fees, but they do apply a commission per transaction. To link OnMind’s eCommerce you can start with the “aggregator” model of ePayco, the requested documentation for individuals is as follows:

  1. Copy of the RUT
  2. Copy of the identification card (or passport)
  3. Bank Certification
  4. Proof of address (bill or bank statement that arrives at your home address where your name can be verified).

If it is a company or formal commerce, a copy of the chamber of commerce certificate must be added, with an issue date no longer than 30 days, and the proof of address is not required. At them you can find related information.

A technical look

If you understand well how you get your e-commerce, the online store is made up of the digital catalog (product portfolio, or menu) and the OnMind eCommerce order application. In addition, to receive payments, the application called “Basic Services Connector and Gateway” is required, which makes it possible, among other functions, to connect the interface with the codes that the ePayco-Davivienda alliance has assigned to you. The latter is presented as a configuration that is done in an OnMind screen and we can guide you as soon as you have your ePayco-Davivienda subscription enabled.

It is convenient to make some tests to verify that the configuration has been properly established. To know how you prepare the catalog and how the user interacts with the order (in the store or eCommerce), you can watch the following videos respectively:

About the price

OnMind settles by units by assigning an amount according to the plan. For example, applying to the Clouds plan (which is the minimum required for eCommerce) you require the application of “eCommerce orders” and the “Basic services connector and gateway”, adding one unit each we would have two (2) units and in that plan the unit (to 2020) would have a value of USD$ 13,5 x 2, you would pay per year (x 12) an amount for USD$ 324 and you can take another payment application without cost. If you do not need to receive the electronic payment it would be half, that is, USD$ 162 per year. Check this out in the store.

The example applies to independent (freelancer) and may be outdated with respect to the store or variation of the dollar. For entities another plan applies.
