eLearning with OnMind

In this short article we will see how to organize your virtual classroom (eLearning) with OnMind.

In the context, the platform is oriented to the management of courses and provides features to publish content, however, the respective content must be developed, as well as complementary material such as videos or computer graphics that may be stored on another platform (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.). It must be thought then as management for virtual classroom. For this it is important to distinguish seven components or aspects:

  1. The digital catalog: Your portfolio of products and services, or the courses in the case of learning (with OnMind you have this function available)
  2. Text editor: To elaborate the content and link or refer to support material (with OnMind you have available this function using Markdown convention)
  3. Private web publisher: The OnMind application that allows you to filter private content by distinguishing it from one that is open to the public.
  4. List Subscriptions: In the case of group teaching and not personalized, this application allows you to apply to a list or group.
  5. eCommerce Order: The OnMind application that provides eCommerce (without processing payments yet)
  6. The mechanism for payments: Connector to a third party technology to receive electronic payments, for example, ePayco-Davivienda (supported by OnMind with the “Connector of basic services and gateway”)
  7. Other external tools: External platforms such as Vimeo or YouTube are useful for uploading videos that can be private. Similarly you can find platforms for computer graphics or images, for example with Dropbox. In addition, video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom for live classes.

These last two instances, as they correspond to third parties, require the corresponding steps, outside the OnMind platform.
You can also store your videos and images with OnMind by acquiring storage volume in the Plus plan or higher, and using the “Content Link Panel” application.

A technical look

If you understand well how you achieve a scenario to manage eLearning, it all depends on your scope, for example, you can start with the digital catalog, the text editor, the private web publisher and the OnMind eCommerce order application. Additionally, to receive payments you need the application called “Basic Services Connector and Gateway” that allows, among other functions, to connect the interface with the codes that the ePayco-Davivienda alliance has assigned to you.

About the price

OnMind settles by units by assigning an amount according to the plan. For example, applying to the Clouds plan (which is the minimum required for eLearning) if you add two (2) units (to 2020) it would have a value of USD$ 13,5 x 2, you would pay per year (x 12) an amount for USD$ 324 and you can add another payment application without cost. This amount can be doubled if you take other components or applications as required, in which case the Plus Plan is preferred. Check this out in the store.

The example applies to independent (freelancer) and may be outdated with respect to the store or variation of the dollar. For entities another plan applies.
